Can’t say that I like this action, but it does put their problem on display – quite drastically.
And it didn’t really inconvenience people. Okay, collecting those bottles won’t be fun, but cleaning up after demos isn’t much fun regardless. And be realistic, most houses get pissed on at some point or another.
So: a lot of light on an existing problem, without hitting everyday people (like, for instance, keeping a main road closed for an hour). Not pleasant, but neither is their dilemma.
Pissing their truth.
A lot of “demonstrations” now are acts that make a low paid cleaners job a hundred times more difficult. Solidarity and all that.

“Equality” Human Rights Commission, sure. Their advisory “legitimate aim” to ban trans people from their preferred toilets is probably “but what if there’s a man pretending to be a woman so he can enter the ladies’ room? Let’s ban the 99.9% of trans people that literally only want to use the toilet from entering it as well”. What a useless organisation if they think like this.

How to get less support for your movement at the expense of your self righteousness.
The people not already on your side are only going to see this as an argument to continue not supporting you. So counterproductive.
They had better have had charges brought against them. That is not peaceful protesting. That’s just appallingly and obnoxious behavior by self entitled little shits.
