Was he at the office party according to rumours / leaks?
I’ve not kept up with all the details.
He doesn’t give a fuck and any enquiry will be a whitewash absolving his friends/ team
He’s sorry that they got caught making jokes about having a party, not for breaking the rules themselves.
Oh well that’s ok then. Cunt.
Note that he’s sorry for the offense caused. He’s not sorry it happened.
Please let this scandal stick!
If anything can rile up Tory voters surely it’s Christmas parties!
As I said in a reply, this isn’t actually admitting that a party happened. It might also be enough if the tame journalists and those Tories who are on his side spin it as “he’s said sorry, let’s move on”.
He’s going to hide behind an internal investigation, the results of which we’ll probably never see. He only needs to wait two weeks for something else to occupy the news.
Typical Boris BS…sorry if anyone was offended by us breaking all our own rules…. not that we ever broke any of our own rules and reality is only what I claim it is…. oh look it’s a flying Peppa Pig for distraction
Not that we ever held any party this is just sorry if anyone might feel offended by the video about the party we really didn’t hold at all.
It’s like saying I’m sorry you feel offended for me calling you a cunt, though I’m not saying sorry for calling you a cunt just sorry that you felt offended by me calling you a cunt
“Sorry anyone was offended”
I’ve heard this deflection before, in particular Priti Patel saying she was sorry “anyone feels they were bullied” by her.
Has anyone ever called that out in Parliament and said “you say you’re sorry people feel offended by x, but are you sorry for the act of x itself?”?
Was “no christmas parties” not a very specific covid rule last year? The very fact that it happened was a breach of the rules, socially distanced or otherwise.
I honestly feel that by this point there could be a leaked video of Bojo himself dressed as an elf and dancing on a table to Mariah Carey and he’d still say it didn’t happen.
Yet another example of the strong and stable government and that were in this all together.
Absolute Cunts!
Seriously, fuck this shit.
You’re not sorry for the offence caused, you’re sorry you got caught, you pound shop Trump!
Sorry for a joke, or sorry that we got to hear about it?
150,000 deaths and rising due to not taking action fast enough.
Public funding cut year on year with tax breaks and lordships for Tory chums.
Misuse of public funds during his Mayoral years, and probably more since becoming an MP again.
If he had any sense of honour he’d of resigned long ago and crept back into obscurity.
Guess next thing he’ll be sorry for is people realising his name appearing in [REDACTED]’s little [REDACTED] book.
Someone on another thread brought up a good point:
The police log who goes in and out of Downing Street. They will know exactly how many people and which individuals were there on the day. The police could release that info, but aren’t as they are trying to help cover it up to support the government
So just to get this straight Boris, if you aren’t a hypocrite, which you are, then you are so totally incompetent that you were unaware of, by all accounts, quite a large party, taking place in your own fucking house.
And despite, presumably, “learning” about this party last week, you’ve been lying all week. Or you are so incompetent that you didn’t even look into it.
>Sandy from Thame believes the video surfacing now is “just political point-scoring”.
>
>She says the video was relevant a year ago and it was “bad taste” to hold a party at the time, but politicians were “technically working”.
>
>”Not everybody works with a glass of wine in their hand, but that’s what they were doing,” she says.
The Sandys of the world are what we’re all up against. Politicians lying to our faces isn’t anything new, but those either willing to give power to the lie or simply thick enough to believe them are our main obstacle.
That’s like a criminal being sorry they were caught, not for committing the crime.
Welcome to the totalitarian British state.
And y’all thought Corbyn would turn is into the USSR?
Do all I say, not as I do.
That’s a lock down out the window isn’t it? If this omnicron gets out of hand, a lot of folk will be thinking, “why the fuck should I take it seriously? Those buggers don’t bother…”
(Not that I want to see a lock down at all!)
Anyone who votes for this Tory government is a fool.
Fuck; watching those videos creates a red hot burning fucking rage at these cunts.
I can’t find the words to describe it; fury doesn’t come close. Yet we’re just being laughed at! Lied to, taken for fucking idiots!
What the *FUCK* can we fucking do?
What are the odds some photo/video evidence emerges soon showing the party did happen?
of all the things people should be angry at the westminster government for, a fucking christmas party should be at the bottom of the list. and thats exactly what they want.
**MISLEADING TITLE :** *Because Boris is not sorry at all, He is just mad at hell that his close aides were caught sharing his views on camera.*
I’m expecting a “The Prime Minister considers the matter closed” hard line any second now.
Then they’ll make a small cut in some taxes just before the next GE and will roll in with a healthy majority again because they think that we’re fucking idiots and enough of us are.
“I’m sorry you’re upset”
Not
“I’m sorry we’re pisstaking hypocrites”
They really don’t give a shit, do they? Nothing will come of this, they’ll just throw out this fake apology and wait for it to blow over
When was the last time this government showed so much as an ounce of accountability?
The bit that got me was that he said he’d “been repeatedly assured” that the party didn’t happen. That’s not a denial. That’s just a claim someone denied it to him. He could know full well the party happened, but as long as someone else assured him it didn’t, his statement is technically true.
The only thing he is sorry for is himself.
All of the other Tory MPs who have never once spoken up when he and the party have repeatedly blatantly lied and mislead the British public are also not sorry.
You say sorry when you mean it, not because it is the social convention. If people buy this then it just shows how foolish they are and only emboldens Johnson further as it shows, once again, that he can get away with murder and face no consequences.
