[OC] UK’s PM plans to cap annual gas prices to address the affordability crisis. The UK, unlike other European countries, is not dependent on Russian gas, but since the country’s gas market is so tightly linked to the rest of Europe, high prices on the continent usually result in higher prices.

Quite amusing to see a price cap implemented, while the EU an UK don’t know how to handle it… they call on the US to assist
And around half of the gas used in the UK comes from its own gas fields.
Interlinked.
UK closed their only gas storage facility in 2017.
Now they are forced to buy gas short term at the highest possible market price at any time.
Have stupid politicians, get stupid policies.
