On the 4. of December 1971 (50 Years ago), the band Deep Purple spent an evening in the Casino at Montreux when a fire broke out and they had to flee the premises. Instead of listening to a concert they found themselves walking along the lake shore. And what did they see?

Frank Zappa and The Mothers of Invention
Why this bullshit ?
While the band saw the “fire” from afar they weren’t in/near the Casino (home to the Montreux Jazz Festival back then) when Frank Zappa (and the mothers !) tried to perform.
Sorry for the rant, I like both Deep Purple and this song but I’m kinda turn bünzli when it comes to Rock’s history 😉
Spare a thought for (Funky) Claude Nobs, founder of the MJF, who helped on a fire hose and saved lives that day.
