INDIA->GREECE| Planning a Trip to Greece in May-23 for 15 Days from India – Is this rough itinerary too much/too less? Please give opinions/suggestions!

  2. Personally I’d drop Heralkion and replace it with longer stays at your other destinations so I can more extensively tour around and explore them.

    Unless there are specific things you want to see in or around Heraklion.

  3. 13 days only? No way. For starters I would give it 20 days.

    Firstly I would book an inexpensive way for in and outta Athens, like this one:

    And afterwards I would find myself an itinerary within Greece.

  5. It’s fine, I would maybe skip Heraklion as there is not much to see there, but there are nice beaches outside the city. Also, maybe do Athens 2 nights, in 2 days you can see all the interesting places the city has to offer

  7. This sounds like a great plan!

    The only thing I would suggest is to take in account your arrival/departure times for each place. For example after the flight (or flights) from Mumbai there is a really high chance you will be knackered so you will lose easily 1 day in just “recovering”. Same goes for the ferry trips, Crete to Santorini may take a toll on you.

  8. I would personally replace naxos with corfu other than that it’s fine also the order of visits should be changed to accommodate for such a change obviously

  9. What is your plan in Naxos? I found it big and dusty. What about a prettier, less industrial island like Amorgos? But it really depends what you want to do.

  10. Looks good, like others said skip Heraklion and add the days to Chania or Athens.

    Other than that:

    * Make sure you look into currency exchange before traveling to avoid getting ripped off in Greece. The quotes I got when trying to convert US Dollars to Euros were hilariously bad.
    * Most businesses in Greece accept payment by card / nfc. If your card / bank has low international transaction fees, it’s very convenient.

  11. Santorini is overrated in my opinion. I would stay one day there, or one night so you can watch the famous sunset. Consider spending more days in Crete (but not Heraclion). Crete is such a large and beautiful island
