Say hello to unemployment and increased shady employment practices
Minimum wage can’t even pay for a studio in Limassol 👏👏
All these talks to raising it at exactly for paying for 1-2 bedroom flat, electricity and water supply…internet, well i dont know, you may not have enough for that! Food? Well who needs food its an overrated perk anw 🤦🏻♂️
Imagine the cost in salaries of these people that were talking for 6 months to come to an amount of 940…
From articles I’ve seen I got the impression that only the monthly wage was set not the hourly. Or was that an earlier draft of the law?
If that is true (I hope not) then the employers could just ask their employees to work more hours to match a potential wage increase due to the minimum wage law. This would not only negate the minimum wage but also abolish the 8-hour work-day.
Still Higher that average Greek one. Only exception are software developers that still get a decent wage (that is considered high to Greek standarts).
Another day of life under capitalism.
Do you realize that, essentially, the only thing they did is just a 16 euro raise? Thank you for the money, i don’t know where to spend all these money now.. they are running from my pants που λαλουμε τζαι στα χωριά. Ξημαρισμένοι…
Hotel industry will find it hard to find good staff a lot of European workers will find better work in other European states and from my experience young Cypriots don’t want to work in the Hotels and I don’t blame them. Also small business will continue to struggle because nobody will have extra money to spend, All wages will go on paying bills and rent.

Increase in minimum wage = cost push inflation = higher prices
