Note that this is only valid if you have a gas hob, electric kettles are on the whole more energy efficient than electric hobs.
Anyone who can’t be bothered to read it it’s gas. Electric is almost twice the price.
I use a gas whenever I can, including a kettle, because the unit price of gas is cheaper.
Government taxes are disproportionately on electricity tarrifs.
This highlights the problem with privately owned utility companies, and poor governmental planning.
Electricity can be generated from many, varied sources, including renewables, yet it’s cheaper to use a resoure that is finite in it’s availability, and about half of which is imported.

Real homes says to boil 2 litres in a kettle will cost 6 pence. This figure is from April 2022.
Most kettles use 3KW per hour…currently means it would cost 60 pence for a full hour of running the kettle.
