  1. Note that this is only valid if you have a gas hob, electric kettles are on the whole more energy efficient than electric hobs.

  2. Anyone who can’t be bothered to read it it’s gas. Electric is almost twice the price.

    I use a gas whenever I can, including a kettle, because the unit price of gas is cheaper.

    Government taxes are disproportionately on electricity tarrifs.

  3. This highlights the problem with privately owned utility companies, and poor governmental planning.

    Electricity can be generated from many, varied sources, including renewables, yet it’s cheaper to use a resoure that is finite in it’s availability, and about half of which is imported.

  4. Not sure about this as there are plenty of experts online that state his figures are way off.

    Real homes says to boil 2 litres in a kettle will cost 6 pence. This figure is from April 2022.

    Most kettles use 3KW per hour…currently means it would cost 60 pence for a full hour of running the kettle.

    It depressing that such stories are been published when some people will believe this nonsense
