Geoffrey Bindman on Labour’s antisemitism scandal: ‘There has been political manipulation’

  1. Thank god someone said it about the EHRC report.

Always have said that the findings against the LOTO are borderline completely bad faith with the information they had, and even the counts of “Antisemitism” against Livingstone and the Counciller are like… the most incredibly Olympic level mental gymnastics to consider those actual discriminatory antisemitism (One is someone defending themselves against a clearly false antisemitism allegation, which the EHRC considered “downplaying Jewish concerns” which is an outright Kafka trap, the other is Livinstone stating something that is practically historical fact and even Zionists agree with in their own theory, on top of that, it was against *ZIONISM* a Right wing ethno-nationalist movement, not Jewish people).

Even if both actions were antisemitic (They clearly weren’t), how is the entire Party responsible? Does that mean Labour as a whole is entirely systematically anti-Semitic every time a single fringe member says something anti-Semitic or Islamophobic or Homophobic or whatever?

Forde Report also brought up the bizarre EHRC findings and found the EHRC had basically cherry picked, which honestly says a lot about the EHRC.

What is also really infuriating, is how the media and Labour right framed both the EHRC report and Forde Report. Using both to paint the left as fringe, hyper factional, nazi level anti-Semities, when in reality the EHRC report at worst is a slap on the wrist, and the Forde Report is practically an evicieration of the Labour right and largely a vindication of the left.

  2. Until we purge and lustrate the embedded special interest groups in our political system, the two main parties will never be democratic and always be fronts for ruthless special interest caste.
