Journalist admits anti-cycle lane angle on London being named world’s most congested city would “get more readers”

  1. Judging by the froth-at-the-mouth anti-cyclist types we get on here a fair assumption.

But but but… Helmets! Insurance! Riding in the middle of the roads! Road tax! MAMILs! Pavement riding! One of them looked at me funny once and my cat fell ill!

  2. I’m not sure how they come to the conclusion that London is the worlds most congested capital city anyway, I regularly have to drive through London and Dublin, London is an absolute doddle in comparison to Dublin ever since the congestion charge was first introduced and having driven in other cities such as Delhi it is almost a pleasure to get around.

  3. Absolutely livid at this. I’m having surgery next week to try and fix the damage done by a reckless driver who couldn’t wait 5 seconds until it was safe to overtake. Constant anti-cycling rhetoric has it’s consequences.

  4. Setting good cause back to generate a few clicks.

Absolutely scummy behaviour by our media.

Journalism is frankly dead in this country. No doubt there are holdouts of quality but considering I know none off the top of my head shows how dire it is.

  5. Your periodic reminder that there are good cyclists and shitty cyclists, and that they’re not one monolith. Having a few bad experiences that you can remember does not mean that all cyclists are the same.

  6. So surely this journalist will be refereed to a regulating body or professional association and sanctioned or something, right? What’s that, there’s no consequences for publishing misinformation? Glad I’m not a journo.

  7. “journalist misrepresents and simplifies nuanced topic in order to get more readers”

Shocked I tell you, fucking *shocked*.
