There is a board game manufacturer in Waterford used to be part of hasbro which has been there from the 70’s may of been one of theirs.
Saying that I’d say before that there could of been many independent games manufacturers in Ireland before that.
I don’t think it’s referencing Tipperary the county so much as the song It’s a Long Way to Tipperary, which was a very popular marching song for the troops in World War 1.
The cast of “Das Boot” might be able to help. 🙂
