  1. I’m a bot, *bleep*, *bloop*. Someone has linked to this thread from another place on reddit:

  2. I didn’t want to have kids, but now I want one to just name it Mściwój

  3. Poland is in the west, shouldn’t have changed the original bottom with the Middle East and all the names being muhammed(downvote if your a pedo)

  4. Are there people who still name their kids Mściwój, Bogumił or Bożydar?

  5. Also, my neighbors name was Stojgniew, which would roughly translate to “Stone cold anger”

  6. I know a guy called Kyle that I work with in the hospital that looks like that. Granted he’s a patient, but still.

    ^(/s just in case)

  7. yes, but those western names predate Polish Christian names for hundreds of years. Tyler comes from French and means one who lays the bricks. Bob from German and means glorious. Kyle after Scottish Gaelic legendary king Coel Hen. Tim comes from Greek and means one who honours God.

  8. Origins of these names
    Kyle = narrow
    Bob (Robert) = shining with glory
    Tyler = self-explanatory
    Tim = honour/god

    There are some utter dogshit modern names in the UK/US etc…, but the selected ones are fairly sane in my opinion!

  9. hear me out I don’t think anyone is naming their kid bożydar in 2022

  10. Krzesław
    Kurwa Krzesław, “sławiący krzesła” xD

  11. My grandpas real name is Bugoslaw or something like that but everyone calls him Bob or Bobby. *You get the best of both worlds*
