  1. I suppose the article focuses on the widening differences between our countries, despite the perception that we have similar language, geographic proximity and somewhat shared history. Many Czechs have different opinions about Poland according to their political standing, so I’ll speak for myself. It concerns me, and I don’t understand, why Poland:
    1. Denies women healthcare through banning abortion, thus endangering their lives.
    2. Is so hateful against LGBT and demonises us as ideology and pedophiles.
    3. Elects anti-democratic politicians who attack rule of law and independent media.
    4. Alienates itself from Europe by leading some ideological war with the EU and denies European law while expecting European funds.
    5. Allows a theological organisation (catholic church) with a proven history of spreading fear and sexually abusing minors to effectively run the state and run off public money.

I presume many of the differences stem from us being atheists and formerly protestants so we really don’t like catholicism. Also, I know that there a lot of decent and supporting people people in Poland so I don’t direct this message to them, but rather to those conservative PiS voters.

  2. I think the main issues we do not understand are your religious “fanaticism” and the laws that come from it, your disdain and moves against European Union(even though there is a bit schizophrenic approach on your side) and then there is the problem with Turow.

But I don’t think that it actually represents the majority of people in your country but those are your official politics and government.

  3. I just want to say that whatever the media say, there are people in the Czech Republic who stand behind Poland. Especially in their fight against the EU colonialism (remember that British colonialism was also mainly economic).

  4. I stand behind Poland, especially regarding abortions. I dont hate women, I dont want to hate anybody, its such a lie that being pro life is misogyny, in fact many, many leaders of pro life movements are women. Even though I am a man, I dont think that my opinion “doesnt count”, that would be really sexist. Like, its the same as saying “girl, go back to kitchen, we are discussing men´s topics now”. I just think those babies deserve their chance and its wholesome to see a country that protects them

  5. Polish extremely religious people unfortunately form the majority in Poland, they seem just as confused to me as evangelicals in the USA, basically they seem like they are extremists.

    Anti-choice, anti-LGBTQ+, anti-feminists, etc.

They think that we live in a judeo-christian society even though our society is based on our pre-christian rites (e.g.: democracy) and the Enlightenment philosophies (which stem from the Renaissance, which itself stems from Greko-Roman ancient philosophers).

  6. Political christianity (as well as political hinduism or political islam) are intollerant conservative movements that have no place in the liberal society.

If the churches fail to separate themselves from these political tendencies, they should be considered antiliberal movements and kicked out too. You cannot tolerate intolerance in the long term perspective…

  7. Hello Czech brothers and sisters,

You see, the problem is you see us as media and eu shows us.

    That the first point.

The sec is that, our government fanaticism and stupid government make that.

Poland and polish gov is not the same. Please remember that.

    The third point.
Our gov screwed up things with the turów mine on you border BUT we can say the same about jashenwalde mine from Germany side. And what? We don’t go to the Germany with that.

Now Czechia and Poland are Germany doggy. That is the real problem.

  8. I mean, Poles literally downgraded their women to breeding cows. Register of pregnant women is on the way, abortion is banned even if female can die. The church runs the state. These are signs of medieval period. Everyday Im kinda expecting to see news from Poland sounding like this: “Woman burned alive for witchcraft.”

  9. Don’t base your pov on what you’ve read or seen in media. They always exaggerate some spicy topics which in most cases are bullshit but catchy to make you click / watch. I’ve been living close to our border in Cesky Tesin for my whole life and I find the Czechs more calm, reasonable and less impetuous than us as a nation. Don’t change that by letting any media creating your mindset. There are too many nowadays, who want to benefit from our separation. We love you 💕
