It’s a maximum of €2. Hardly gonna drain the coffers. So any orders after €40 will still only be charged €2.
As long as there’s nothing forgotten, and they get it to you before it’s gone cold 😂
>By law you can refuse a service charge
Can you?
to be fair the cost of fuel has nearly doubled over a few months. That cost has to be recouped somewhere.
Wait, JE’s service charge is now variable…?
Like it used to just be a flat 50c for card processing fees.
What do you expect from a company that makes Brazilians cycle around Dublin in December delivering takeaways? If Just Eat ran the world it would be a grim place.
That 5 percent is what just eat takes from the restaurant most usually incorporate it into the price of your food and don’t declare it
I hope these rip-off delivery companies become victims of the cost of living crises. I love my food but never get it delivered anymore
I noticed this charge on a delivery a few weeks ago. Just ring them for a delivery instead of ordering on just eat
Op how do you think Just Eat make money ?
It’s a service charge to use the app, check the t&C’s I got caught up in this about the service charge after paying for the monthly service, bastards
Alright karen
Another way to fuck you just that extra little bit
Refuse a service charge how though can you give an example
Would you get dressed and get out the house to pick up your food yourself? No, you won’t. Delivery is an extra service and costs you extra. Nobody forced you to order.
Always ring the restaurant direct. Not only do just eat charge a service charge they also take upto 30% of the cost of the entire order.
My local chipper actually doesn’t take card and strongly encourages people not use just eat or their own app. Unfortunately, in both cases there is an annoying fee that comes with the order.
Don’t mind Just Eat. Just pick up the phone and you’ll avoid the fees altogether.
Delivery driver here. Avoid the big companies such as Just Eat. During lockdown, while they already had a service charge, they upped it to about 20‰ of the customers order but when takeaways refused, they just added it onto the price of individual items on the menu, so for example, if you order 3 items from the takeaway menu totalling €30, ordering it through the Just East app would cost you €33, and that’s before the delivery charge. They’re still doing it but nobody really notices it. You’re better off ordering by phone to the takeaway to avoid service charges and extra per-item costs.
