The criminal element of society is filled with young men (predominantly) who simply have no understanding, or potentially no interest in the consequences of their actions and will just response with violence and aggression when they don’t get their way or a decent person stands up to them. Someone’s life means nothing to them. I think this is a societal problem that I just don’t know how to fix.
Where I used to work there was a male who was known for carrying knives, for being violent, he’d been to prison for it, got out. Eventually he gets confronted when he tries to shoplift he gets angry and walks out the shop but when the staff member and a customer walk out to ask him to leave the area, he pulls a knife and slashes them 4-5 times, one of which cuts the victims neck and it’s a miracle that the guy isn’t dead as it’s about half a centimetre from being fatal.
Guy only gets 3 years in jail which is massively disappointing. He will 100% do the same again as he just doesn’t give a fuck.

This is why retail workers should not engage with these types of people, I remember we used to have a regular shoplifter coming into our store who had aids/HIV and always threatened to spit on workers and the 1 security guard if we even tried to stop them leaving.
Why are our courts and justice systems so fucking shit all the time. 9 years for knowingly murdering someone doing their job. Hopefully this scumbag gets out and gets some street justice.
