We’re in such silly territory for national debt compared to what we were supposed to be worried about back in 2010.
As a country we spent years ruining services, harassing benefits claimants and selling the family silver basically to make peanuts compared to what we’re borrowing now and what was spent over the pandemic. And for what?
I think this argument that we’re now “saddling future generations with debt” misses the wood for the trees: we spent years being sold complete rubbish about the necessity of suffering for the sake of the deficit, bringing pointless harm to countless families for years. Nevermind the magic money tree, apparently we’ve found an all-singing, all-dancing, abra kadabra, mystical Marvin’s magical money forest by the looks of it so long as it’s for the service of some energy firms.
Can’t upset the Shell shareholders.
That just wouldn’t do.
I really intrigued to hear a decent argument in support of this move
so,
scotland leaves the union, and the truss tax.
then, norn nirn leaves the union, and the truss tax.
then, wales leaves the union, and the truss tax.
then, the reformed state of northumbria, leaves the union, and the truss tax
and that leaves everything south from sheffield, with its tories, and its truss tax.
She is usually very easy to persuade, however this will probably be the one thing she is most dogmatic about. It was a key part of her campaign and she is going to stick with it, no matter how many economic experts tell her it is a bad idea. She is too inept to realise how out of her depth she is and that will be her legacy.
