I can’t help but feel as though this is a monumental waste of time and money at a period of economic hardship for the UK. I do feel it would be more economically sensible and sensitive of the British public to defer this till after the looming recession or at least until a bulk of the storm has been weathered.
That being said, it is a significant moment in the UKs history. The queen was like it or not a significant figure for many.
Probably will be added to tax as they will say ‘the monarchy have to pay for the funeral’….. then come winter thousands will die in poverty and the news will be like ‘lol new bank notes, don’t die this winter #wecare’
You’ll still be finding coins with Liz on them for years and years though. It will take forever for the mint to get them all out of circulation, like with the old £1 coins that still seem to pop up every now and again.
