I’d love to see a comparison of the total number who said they are living in rented accommodation in the census versus the number of rental properties the RTB has on it’s books. Would be interesting to see how big of a difference there is in the country.
Unfortunately the census data can’t be used by law to go directly after landlords (for the understandable reason that people might feel they have to lie on the census for fear of being evicted if their landlord was chased up by the RTB.

I can’t imagine how every party doesn’t screen this stuff, fairly basic like.
The housing was an issue during the last GE, and they surely know that things like this can bring down fragile coalition governments.
Fuck sake lads… you might as well invite the Shinners in and make tea for them..
