Any trad heads knocking around here? I’d love to get your opinion on this cause I’m conflicted.
What happens when a Norwegian and an English man take a traditional Irish tune and ….. I dont know.
I feel like, as a trad head myself, I should not like this. .. But I do.

Have a listen to this and let me know what ye think.

I’m not OK with this…. Nothing to do with cultural appropriation, it’s just scutter.
Anyone can play with whatever music they want, but it’s better if they make it interesting, without “cultural appropriations” music would stagnate.
Doesn’t matter, trad and folk songs have always evolved and will continue to do so.
[The Ollam](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cOqTZH7mP0Y) is another example of a trad fusion group.
Some stuff will work, some won’t but that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t try.
Not a bad song, I expected something wildly different from it when you said “trad heads” though.
Most Irish folk songs have versions in Scotland, England, Canada , USA and even versions within Ireland. Music is like water . It flows. Get over it
