Welcome to Liz Truss’ Britain. Everyone’s going on strike

  1. Whilst not intended to defend Truss, headlines like this are a little irritating.

BoJo got us to this point, not Truss. *This* is Boris’ Britain.

  2. One thing that gives me a *little* hope is the fact that the likes of the DM don’t seem to be behind her with any conviction

  3. good. this shitshow of a country should be brought to its knees. everyone except the 1% are getting repeatedly fucked over at every possible situation and it needs to change.

  4. *Boris runs everything into the ground, causes mass strikes, energy crisis, kills thousands, “runs” a zombie government for several months in a sulk*

    Literal day after becoming PM:
TRUSS YA DIZZY BITCH WHATVE YOU GONE DONE THAT FOR JEEEESSSUUUSSSSS WHAT A MESS YOU’VE MADE

  5. Now we have mass strikes, a cost of living crisis, an energy cost spike, a half done Brexit, and a new thatcherite PM.

Happy days, God bless each and every one of us..

  6. She’s appointed Matthew Sinclair, a director at Deloitte and former head of the TaxPayers’ Alliance as chief economic adviser. Leading economists/political commentators are predicting complete societal collapse in less than a year. Complete decimation of public services and increased inequality awaits. But the TUC have got this lads, they’ve launched a ‘£15 minimum wage by 2030’ campaign. Frankly, I’m terrified.

  7. Good. The sooner the better. Down tools and protest outside your local Tory MP’s house. Show these cunts they’re not welcome anymore.

  8. yep, she’s selling the country out to the energy company’s. £100bn loan to give to the very energy company’s that are ripping us off while reaping 5 fold profits. Surely a hefty windfall tax on the energy firms profiting the most to help bail out the smaller providers and of course us the consumers, restoring some sort of balance on UK energy would be a better idea?

  9. Where have you been for the past couple of months? Everyone’s already been striking. It was down to bojo the bozzo

  10. For literally a decade or more, it’s been noticeable that wages are not keeping up with inflation, cost of living, or house prices. A Tory government will never, ever take action against executives or shareholders to benefit workers. Therefore, here we are. Get used to lots of transport delays, uncollected refuse and broken-up school terms.

  11. Lets keep the eye on the ball, this is conservative britain 12 years in and the legacy of Boris. Liz has yet to smear a shit stain on the Union Jack but there is still time for that.

  12. I’m in work for 9 hours but am paid for 8 hours. I’ll happily work my 8 hours without a break and go home at 4 instead of 5. Bosses won’t want that though will they. Please don’t take my unpaid hour away from me……FFS

  13. I hate this system of blaming the latest or last PM for the Tory shitshow we have all been for the last 12 years so that they can pretend that they are now a “fresh government”. The whole party is rancid, they have nothing good they can offer the U.K. and I wish the electorate would wake up to that.

  14. Good. I hope they all do. 10 years of wage stagnation and loss of rights is no joke for a lot of sectors and they should be supported.

  15. Since the bank bailouts, neoliberalism has created the conditions for exponential corporate growth and rising inequality.

The Tory party backed the Brexit referendum under the coalition government and washed its hands of it during its term in power as a majority government with the unionists.

The political discourse & the democratic foundations of our country are broken.

Geopolitics are in a mess due to Russian aggression, whilst climate change & energy insecurity are turning the young against the old & rich against poor.

This is a tough gig, for sure…

  16. I took early retirement from the NHS a couple of years ago, and have so far regretted it for all of about fifteen minutes.

But I am seriously wondering if I should go back again, so that I can vote to strike. Because Truss has made it crystal clear that she is not someone you can have a reasoned negotiation with (or even, I suspect, a reasoned chat about the weather.)
