  1. This is the point, many of the ‘Think Tanks’ driving policy in the Tory party are funded by the likes of the Koch brothers in the US and are effectively pushing the UK into a pale hollowed out imitation of the American system.

    Political funding and Think tanks really need to be banned from foreign political influence.

  2. NHS is done for. Even if the next general election brings Labour to power by that time she will have done enough damage to public services that will take years if not a decade to restore. Time to look for private health insurance that costs an arm and a leg.

  8. The UK is in a period of uncertainty, many varieties of ghouls love to exploit countries going through periods of uncertainty.

    It usually leads to ruin for the countries involved.

  11. Compete with US Corporations over what? Doctor salaries? Nurse salaries? Health outcomes? Value for money for the consumer? What exactly are they competing over?

  15. It’s not a surprise though. All the right wing think tanks seem to rub elbows with one another all too eagerly, with Truss having been involved in more than a few herself. They might focus on slightly different things but they know they all need the same sort of leader to reach their goals, so they are founded by the same small group of individuals and investment firms.

  18. I will say again. You can buy kits online (eg amazon) that give you everything to set up a small solar system offgrid. Its not cheap at a few hundred quid and you need somewhere to put it, but if enough people take back control of energy even in this small way our emissions slowly come down, our greedy energy companies make less profit, and we have some independent power in times of blackouts.
