This whole thing is a clusterfuck of stupidity. None of this will help the people of the U.K. remotely.
Correct decision. We need energy independence and renewables have a long long way to go yet.
We had mini earthquakes when they were fracking in Salford… EARTHQUAKES….. IN THE NORTH OF ENGLAND … And they want to do more? Yes this will have no repurcushions at all
I do wonder if in their bubble they understand just how unpopular this is in areas where fracking has been tried ?
No conservatives in Lancashire any more I suspect.
Of course she’ll lead by example and authorise fracking where she lives. /s
This will be justified because it will “help reduce energy bills”, I guarantee it. But realistically it will have no impact and simply line the pockets of energy companies further, while fucking the environment further.
But I’d expect nothing less from a former Shell lobbyist.
It’s all smoke and mirrors, just like Brexit was sold to the public. This will not mean cheaper gas as it is would be sold at market rates.
It’s all built in areas to make it exportable so no guarantee its for the domestic market. You need to pay subsidies to the companies to get them to start and we will pay for the clean up even if indirectly.
We have drought issues which complicate the water requirements of the process.
Not even getting onto the environmental impacts of this process.
Lord help those in communities affected by fracking. This method is known to cause earth tremors and subsidence over wide areas…. there will be serious damage to homes and infrastructure such as roads and railways and potentially life if it restarts.
I can’t think of a metaphor to adequately illustrate the lunacy of this decision. We don’t have the vast uninhabited tracts the US has.
Those who protested against fracking haven’t gone away… the demonstrators and justified protest will simply return.
Shame on this government.
So after flushing all shit on the beaches and sea around they now want to pollute the groundwater they have now cities in the US where you can fucking lit the water out of the tap -.-
RIP Lake and Peak Districts as well as parts of AONBs in Surrey and Kent
Why do these idiots ignore all scientific advice that this is unnecessary and environmentally harmful and won’t reduce bills anyway?
Because the Tory Party are a death cult.
She could have come in and tried to do things which would maybe make people a little happier with the current situation, instead she does this, what the actual fuck.
It should be allowed. Next to where MPs who support it live.
Lee Anderscum supports them, his house is near some very nice open space that is ripe for it. Probably.
Good, anything that reduces dependence on Russia and the middle Eastern regimes is a win.
