Lightening won’t strick twice lads

  1. I’m gonna go (I’ll get free tkts) just to watch the world burn I think. These residents won last time but now….an army of country loving folk descend…..their cowboy hats will block out the sun

  2. Spare a thought for the poor souls who live around there who need to clean shites out of their front gardens after these gigs. During Ed Sheeran half the jacks in croker were closed due to “circumstances”

  3. Lightning strikes twice all the time. Tall buildings like skyscrapers can get hit over 100 times per year.

  4. What did they think was going to be going on in a stadium when they bought a house next to it, silent raves?

  5. Many years ago Lady Gaga did the Aviva.

    I think it was 2012.

I was making my way to Pearse station after work. I got off around 7 or so. And was trying to get my train and get home.

From the platform in Pearse you could look towards the Aviva and see the lights, and hear the music.

And I thought to myself “boy I’d hate to live around there.” And so in spite of the fact that I couldn’t afford a house around Croker, or the Aviva, the RDS, the 3 arena. I made a point of when doing house shopping to look at places not next to a stadium, because I wouldn’t like it.

So I suppose if you don’t like concerts, or sporting events, or other loud, crowd gathering, shows. Maybe… maybe don’t live there.

  6. Don’t mind me, just here to see how many of my fellow culchies believe that people living beside Croke Park:

    1. Own their gaffs
    2. Bought them recently

  7. Currently renting right beside Croke park, also won tickets for one of the gigs. It’s on our doorstep and we didn’t hear any overnight noise at all… all we hear is constant beeping like trucks reversing endlessly but knew what to expect after the Ed Sheeran concert.

  8. I live near Croke Park, and my local tidy towns has been trying to get them to work with us on concert days. Nobody is saying there shouldn’t be concerts, but we have asked for them to:

    1. Put out bin barrels on concert days so concertgoers aren’t forced to pick between throwing their rubbish in our front gardens or in the canal

    2. Provide portapotties, as an alternative to the laneway all the Ed Sheeran fans decided to use as a toilet.

I don’t think that’s unreasonable, especially when they are asking for extra concert dates beyond the limit set in their planning permission.
