Beautiful to see that BBC still despises the Tories and will push all their negative stories onto the front page.
These guys don’t deserve to be in power at all.
Her views on *everything* are concerning
Interesting point of view from someone who has absolutely no chance of ever getting pregnant.
I imagine Therese Coffey’s views on pretty much everything are concerning to be fair
As much as I despise the woman, and agree she ought not to have been given the role she has, what she said about **abortion term limits** specifically was:
> Ms Coffey said: “Abortion law isn’t going to change in this country.”
> Ms Coffey, who is a practising Catholic, said she would “prefer that people didn’t have abortions but I am not going to condemn people that do”.
And really, she’s quite entitled to have that viewpoint.
It’s odd that this is the thing grabbing headlines, and not the fact that she’s the most ironic of individuals to hold the position of health minister.

The fact that she’s an ardent free marketeer is also extremely concerning given the trajectory of the NHS under the Tories.
Has no kids herself but feels everyone else should.
Just put BBC breakfast on to be greeted by Coffey’s gurning gob, can we please have advanced warning so we don’t have our day ruined first thing in the morning?
90% of Britons think any woman should have the right to an abortion, so whatever medieval mindset this zealot possesses, she’s going to have to bite her tongue
I am still wondering when Liz will start to champion women like she keeps saying she wants to do, and yet she puts a forced birther and anti-LGBT in the cabinet, even though Liz was caught in a gay club. Could it be that Liz et al dont give a fuck.
Is she bitter because nobody ever wanted to pump that beast ?
Shame her parents didn’t consider it long ago..
She can’t do shit without a majority and that’s why it’s important to vote to get progressive MPs in place to block shit like this. Vote vote vote.
If the Conservatives had any sense or nous (they don’t), they would cut all funding to the charity blob
> Ms Coffey recently voted against making at-home abortion pills, introduced during the pandemic, permanently available in England and Wales.
I can see why a discussion would be needed on the issue
>In June, when asked about her views on access to abortion in an interview with Sky News, Ms Coffey said: “Abortion law isn’t going to change in this country.”
Okay, that’s good a good thing right?
>Ms Coffey, who is a practising Catholic, said she would “prefer that people didn’t have abortions but I am not going to condemn people that do”.
So what’s the issue?
>As a backbencher in 2010, Ms Coffey also introduced a motion in Parliament which called for “mental health assessments” for women seeking an abortion.
Her motion in 2010 said: “In its 14 March 2008 statement the Royal College of Psychiatrists advised that healthcare professionals who assess or refer women who are requesting an abortion should assess for mental disorder and for risk factors that may be associated with its subsequent development” and called on the government to “give its full backing to mental health assessments for women presenting for abortion”.
Not the worst idea, an abortion is not insignificant.
>She voted against extending abortion rights to women in Northern Ireland, but wrote at the time this was because she supported devolution and did not believe the UK Parliament should be “exercising direct rule on this issue”.
Seems fair enough no?
This article is just Americanised tabloid nonsense.
Didn’t know shrek had joined the government its all ogre now
The tory health secretary is a fat, drunk, cigar smoking bigot and all round distasteful person.
Who’da thunk it from the party that gave you a pig fucker, an indecisive wet fart and a lying, misogynistic, racist, adulterating drunkard who compared himself to a Roman General?
I wish fuckers would break out of this sunk cost fallacy fucktardery and wake up the the catastrophic damage the tories have done to this country over the last 15 years.
It’s time to get French Revolutionary up in this crib.
