I suspect he did do a good job as well. I feel for him. Why can’t we actually put the best person in the job rather than ONLY putting best mates there? It’s sad.

To be honest, it’s not just minister’s wives. My wife isnt a fan.
Given the way she spoke outside No 10 earlier, she’s not wrong. Idiot or imbecile is a fine way to sum her up.
She spoke like she was reading notes given to her by a donor. At least Johnson didn’t sound like he was reading a script. She lacked any conviction behind her words, including the Johnson brown-nosing segment.
If it wasn’t for the camera showing her from the side at one point I’d have believed there was a hand or cable there controlling her like a puppet.
She even sounded angry at one point. She had her “that is a disgrace” level of aggression going.
She’s so out of her depth. There really is no talent in this government or parliament if this is what we have as our leader and cabinet.
PMQs are going to be great. Johnson dodged and avoided questions. Truss seems like she’ll answer the questions, faff it up and get it painfully wrong, and be turn to shreds.
‘veteran’ here. I find Jonny Mercer the politician incredibly difficult to listen to and apparently his wife even more so. there’s a real “I am the voice of soldiers everywhere” about him, even when it’s clear there’s other’s in government who also happen to have served and can get on with the job without threatening to sack it all off each time he doesn’t get his way.
