De gemiddelde vlaamse boomer in bovenste middenklasse

  1. Dit slaat kant noch wal en lijkt geschreven door een twaalfjarige.

Your meme is bad and you should feel bad.

  3. Interesting how this situation was predicted by the works of German-Belgian macro-economist Wilfried Schreiber in his foundational work “Existenzsicherheit in der Industriellen Gesellschaft” as early as 1955.
Basically working age generations will always have to pay for the two non-working generations.
In a capital based pension system with demographic imbalance these payments go indirectly via stock dividends, thus stagnant wages and via real estate, thus increasing rent prices.
Thus a PAYGO with extra steps.
But of course if you let the market figure it out there is no societal control over the process and no democratic intervention for the working age population.

  4. Everybody’s complaining but that is *word for word* my friend’s former landlord. ‘She needs to increase the rent to 700€ (from 500) because she needs a home nurse and the other guy didn’t pay last month’.

    Hopefully they’re rare.

  5. So sick of this, my parents are “boomers”, my dad worked his ass off being called out of bed on emergencies. We had 1 family holiday of 8 days a year with the three kids, no citytrips, no skiing, festivals, … He got promoted to a better job inside the company by working his ass off and studying even more at the age of 48 while still working. They rented the house we lived in until he was over 50 when they were finally able to buy it. He lived there for 20 years more, sold it bought an apartment and died of cancer while never smoking and living healthy. He sure didn’t have time making shitty meme’s about his grandparents / parents.

You’re an entitled jealous brat, you’re so unhinged in your thinking this picture is actually stating more about you.

  6. Complaining about the situation via memes is certainly gonna improve your situation.
Jesus, just buckle down, work hard and don’t spend your money on stupid shit for a few years and you’re in the clear. It’s not that hard. I’m not a boomer and I’m an example that it works. No fancy jobs or education. Never got help from home. Just bust your ass and you’ll be the one the new generation will be bitching about. And don’t act like you wouldn’t buy property to make sure you have a good pension of you had the money. It’s just a smart move.

  7. It’s silly to make this a generation issue while this is a class issue. The 1% are laughing their @sses off with these kind of memes.
Always the other ones: the migrants, the boomers, generation “lazy” x… just take a step back and see where the money is really floating to. The energy crisis and who actually benefits from this should be a big hint.
