Last I checked the price of a Whopper meal and a Big Mac meal is essentially the same.
Yep, just checked out some ordering sites and they are literally 92 DKK and 92 DKK. Exact same price for a menu of either.
I think the reasoning here is mostly that Burger King has a higher desire to upsell you compared to McDonalds in Denmark, for whatever reason, so their base burger is more expensive, but they want to stay in competition on the meals.
Burgers are 67 DKK vs 40 DKK without meal so a huge price difference there.
You gotta also take into account that in Denmark people making your Whopper is making a livable wage.

Weird Way to put it, should compare salary’s too, since the avarage salary in Vietnam is like 300 usd and their whopper is 4.87 usd or 1.6% of their montly salary but ours is only 0.25%
and it taste like shit
for years I could buy 2 std whopper **meals** for DKK 89,- ($12), recently it went up to DKK 99,- … just sayin

Og i modsætning til mange andre lande, så er folk i Danmark, der arbejder fuldtid i fast-food restauranter ikke nødt til at have supplerende bistandshjælp og/eller nødt til at få mad fra madbanker for at overleve. De har råd til at leve i deres egne lejligheder og tage på ferie.
Jeg vil hellere betale mere for maden og så vide, at jeg ikke er med til at udnytte folk.

Similar to the Big Mac Index from The Economist, I put together the Whopper Index.
I collected data on Whoppers from 49 countries and Denmark took the top position for most expensive Whopper in USD.
