Worst I’ve seen so far. €1600 for one bed apartment. Two rooms total, slanted walls and in a tiny, single street town 20 minutes outside Cork City that gets gridlocked twice a day.

  1. That looks like a beautiful place to live. I wish my house that I pay a mortgage for was as modern as that

  2. That’s actually ridiculous and anyone that thinks its not has become fully conditioned to this insanity surrounding housing

  3. Doesn’t look that bad, a tad expensive but it’s not a shed. It’s a fairly spacious looking room that’s clean and well furnished.

  4. It’s well decorated, looks well maintained. But at the end of the day no matter how good it looks its two rooms in inishannon. 1600 a month is nuts. Anyone who thinks otherwise is normalising the housing crisis.

  5. To be fairrrrr it’s 15min drive to cork city. Sure it gets gridlocked but there are traffic lights in the town so if living there is easy to get out it’s going through it either side (time depending) that’s a problem.
Used to live in Terenure and work in Dublin city the odd time I had to drive is an hr each way and covers about 4km this is 15min to cover 25km depends what u want/need.

Still bout 800-900€ more than it’s worth and I guess also no supermarkets just 2 small Centra shops, and a nice bakery.

  6. Jesus it’s insane. 5 years ago we were renting in that area. 3 bed house for 800 a month. Bought our house near by and moved on.

Just looking though daft there. There’s a 2 bed for 2200 which is 900 higher than the mortgage on our 4 bed house and it’s less than 1 mile away… what the actual fuck is happening?!

  7. Actually looks like it would be quiet nice if it was reasonably priced. if this was a cheap option it could be perfect for the right person

  8. Typically the free market enables people to decide what’s right. but when the market act the cunt we can’t

  9. Look at the state of this. Price gouging at it’s best, but sure what can you expect these days. So disappointed that this is how it is now, everyone just in it for themselves, willingly adding to the problem. Sure heap it on, never mind the pressure everyone is under.

  10. That’s crazy money..but there is so much worse…I’ve seen a single layer galvanized shed with no insulation up for 1100 a month.

I’ve seen old horse stables “converted” up for 600 each

  11. In belfast, you could get a 3 bedroom semi with a garden for half of that…

I went from not been able to afford a studio to having a room just for my dog by moving 2 hours north 😂

  12. I rent a place similar to this except it’s dark, and everything is very old. Single pane windows where you can hear the nightlife and get no sleep. €600 a month tho with no HAP I share with my fiancee we split it so it’s only €300 a month 👌

  13. Not from Ireland – can anyone explain why everyone’s reacting so badly to innishannon? Is it a crap area or just not anything to do?

  14. Inishannon?! That is absolutely ludicrous. Ludicrous. I heard of a guy paying €1400 for a two-bed in Bandon and THAT was insane, but this is profiteering at its worst. Ugh.

  15. 5 years ago my partner and I got a three bedroom in bishopstown for 850 a month because the owner died and the family couldn’t sell it straight away and wanted someone to occupy it while they waited the compulsory year or whatever it is. I don’t think we will ever see the likes of it again tbh.
