I have heard the song tons of times in the past and it has always bothered me as to what the “Champagne for everyone *on* me” meant. Please let me know. Thanks in advance!

  1. I wouldnt think too much about it. Its just a silly humor song.
That being said, I always assumed it was just because the stereotype of Norwegian=rich.

  2. I think perhaps it’s referring to the stereotype that Norwegian people are wealthy? So he’s asking how’s he supposed to pay for the champagne, the reply is because he’s got ÆØÅ. Which I think is referring to him being Norwegian, as those letters are only found in the Norwegian alphabet.

    I’m not sure lol

  3. “on me” means he’s buying. “It’s on me.” = “I am paying for it.”

He’s laughing because the bartender asks how he will be able to pay for it and he thinks it’s a stupid question.

  4. He’s buying a round of Champagne for everyone, and offering to pay for it with the letters ÆØÅ 😛

EDIT: Btw this is such a funny music video, I have sometimes caught myself singing this driving through downtown in summer with the windows open without being aware of it 😀 The only saving grace is that I can’t remember all the lyrics so I kinda mumble the bad bits XD
