  1. I’ll never not upvote this. The context was Data discussing how terrorism can lead to effective political change so at least that won’t be the reasons behind a United Ireland if it does happen.

  2. I think it’ll happen sometime in the future but i’m doubtful it would happen in 2024. It’ll come alright but not so soon i don’t think.

  3. Let’s not get our hopes up.

It might be *December*, 2024. It could be almost 2.5 years from now.

  4. Educate a non irish expat

I saw a lot of threads about how stuff is cheaper in northern island because they are part of uk. Also I read that irish produced stuff is more expensive in Ireland.

So why should they want to join besides nationalism?

I am not being cynical. I am trying to learn how people think about stuff around here.

  5. Yeah… you forgot the part when he said he was talking about instances when violence, terrorism and genocide worked.

  6. I honestly would love this and genuinely believe it will happen 🤞🏼🤞🏼 United Ireland 🇮🇪

  7. Does that mean we’re going to start up some troubles again? I’m pretty that was played as if they never ended

  8. I know battles were fought over unifying Ireland, but as a present day Irishman I really don’t see the point (other than avoiding the “Annual Cross Border Christmas Dash to Newry’s Asda for Drink”). We’ve both developed our own cultures and heritages, what’s the point of unifying other than bygones of old and economic reasoning.
