Storm clouds already gathering over new PM Liz Truss after narrow win

  1. There’s going to be an election in the coming months. It’ll go the way it always goes of course. With the new PM saying its not the right time for one etc etc until suddenly it is.

  2. From the press coverage I thought that Prince of Bel Air was going to get vaporised by Truss to be true…

    Instead it’s not such a land slide… I feel a bias.

  3. Doubt she lasts long in any case. Either the Parliamentary party will dispose of her shortly, or she will lose the next election whenever that is.

Theresa May also won and the second she did her days were numbered. They can’t go down this route, of the mad series of plans Truss has and win the election.

  4. good. the sooner these venal, mendacious shits tear each other apart the sooner we can be done with them. hopefully for good.

the tory party is a fucking cancer.

  5. It doesn’t mean that those who voted for Sunak are anti-Truss, it wasn’t a black-white vote such as The Brexit Referendum, both options were similar in many ways.
That’s a bit of a wishful thinking journalism article, making something out of very little.

  6. Conservative MP – “We can’t have a situation where the people benefiting most from tax cuts are the rich and those hit hardest by energy prices are the poor.”

Isn’t this the whole point of the Conservatives?

  7. It’s the arrogance. It’s the contempt. That’s what gets me. It’s Liz Truss’ apparent belief that she can just trample on the democratic will of the British people. It’s at moments like this that I think the political world has gone mad, and I am alone in detecting the gigantic fraud.

The British public voted for Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson to serve as their leader. They were at no stage invited to vote on whether Mary Elizabeth Truss should be PM. They voted for Boris, and yet they now get Liz, and a transition about as democratically proper as the transition from Claudius to Nero. It is a scandal. Why are we all conniving in this stitch-up? This is nothing less than a palace coup with North Korean servility, the Conservative Party has handed power over to the brooding Oxford power-maniac.

The extraordinary thing is that it looks as though she will now be in 10 Downing Street for years, and without a mandate from the British people. No one elected Liz Truss as Prime Minister.
