Liz Truss’s energy plans will be disastrous for our bills and the planet. Truss will oversee the greatest transfer of wealth in history, from UK families to oil and gas executives she used to work for.

  1. Well so all working as planned and after she is done with the transfer they will replace her anyway.

  2. I think it’s starting to look like a question of whether or not there’ll have to be rationing of energy – maybe that does help the planet, I’m not sure on that one.

  3. Absolute golden political opportunity for the Lib Dems (and for those who want a Labour government).

As Scott Morrison found out down under, the middle classes care about the environment.

Safe Tory seats become a lot less safer when their rivers are polluted.

  4. This is beyond the transfer of wealth. I can’t help but think something more concerning is around the corner. Perhaps they are wanting a collapse.

  5. Good job we got out of the undemocratic EU with their unelected fat cats imposing diktats on us. Let’s show Johnny Foreigner the DEMOCRATIC way to do things.

P.s. I’ve been away on holiday so I think I missed the General Election we just had.

  6. Don’t let them trick you into thinking that £2k/pa for every household *FOR THE NEXT DECADE* to pay off their crisis is anything short of the new Poll Tax.

  7. Everything is fucked at this point, people don’t even care about the very Planet they live on! Money is king, sadly. Anybody know when the mass suicides are starting? I don’t wanna be late

  8. I hope this is populist rhetoric and she will behave differently when elected. Otherwise she is going to give Nicolás Maduro and Hugo Chavis a run for their money in terms of terrible economic policies.

I know people here like to talk about people getting rich off brexit but bad economic hurts even the rich as well. The rich get richer off a strong middle class even if it means paying more taxes, their asset value will grow with a strong middle class. Her policies only benefit the economically illiterate.

  9. If you’re on the fence voting wise or even if you’re historically a Tory voter, I’m literally begging you to vote Lib Dem or Labour in the next GE. I don’t understand how anyone can think this is okay.

  10. It’s a weird choice for them to say “consumer’s addiction to fossil fuels” as though we are the ones asking for it. Pretty sure most people are pushing for renewables

  11. I’m more concerned about her stance on unions. If her plans come to fruition unions will be gutless and nothing more than an extra tax to pay.

  12. Sick of watching the British public just stand and watch all this happen and be like “oh well it’s bad but there’s nothing I can do so I’ll just pay it”. I saw a video of people in Europe setting fire to their energy bills and storming the town hall, where’s this energy!!!
I’m a huge supporter of Don’t Pay UK because it’s what we need, either don’t pay their absurd bills or forcibly remove this government from office there’s no in between.

  13. Why isn’t this illegal?

Isn’t it a huge conflict of interest? And we all know it’s happening? But it’s legal?

  14. We’ve gone from a guy who acted the clown in order to divert attention from his incompetence and laziness, to a full blown moron whose own parents despise her right wing lunacy.

How did we get to this? Oh, it was David Cameron’s dick measuring contest with a man who has never even been an elected MP. That’s right

    Edit: Spelling

  15. The very first video of pay as you go meter being ripped off the wall posted on TikTok or Facebook will start a revolution. Elites are so out of touch with reality, they don’t even know what’s coming.

  16. Well, it’s easy to see why she won. I wonder how many MP’s the oil exec’s had to bung a wodge of cash at to vote for her?

  17. Under capitalism, every crisis the little guy gets fucked while the richer get richer. It’s almost like the rich like a crisis every few years.

  18. I’m starting to warm up to the idea of the not paying movement…I think it’s time people sharpen their pitchforks
