That’s pretty impressive. Is there adequate storage infrastructure also being developed? Or would we sell to Europe?
No good news allowed here!
Yeah but wind is pretty shit compared to chad nuclear
The government produces a lot of wind too.
Doesn’t seem to help the price though
Who owns the wind because the customer is getting charged a shitload more for energy than when we used coal.
Not too worry. Our new PM will soon put a stop to that.
Then why am I paying so much?
and it is still suffocating in the summer
Worlds or uk’s ?
And yet the extinction rebellion thundercunts will still protest in the UK rather than countries that actually don’t give a shit.
Sorry, this is r/uk, please change that headline to something negative.

The article makes some good points, but I’d take it all with a pinch of salt given the above
[Just for the purposes of context](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wind_power_by_country).
I thought that the majority of the offshore wind farms aren’t even UK owned ? They supply the UK but aren’t owned by a British company ? I thought it was Nordic or danish ?
Yeah… Generated by wind but still sold for a fortune…
Well that’s just a really shit showing from the rest of the World then.
It’s a pity they aren’t investing much in storage as hydrogen
Correction, Scotland is, and I’m British.
So who is using the electricity and why am I still hearing about price hikes and Russian gas? Not rhetorical, genuinely interested.
And yet our energy bills are through the roof because of natural gas prices.
And now we sit back and watch as Truss takes that away from us.
Not so amazing after all, is it
Really grasping at straws for something we can still give ourselves a “superpower” label with, huh.
Are we leading the world with wind power innovation? Are most of the wind power patents British? Are British wind power companies installing large parts of other countries’ wind infrastructure? Or have we simply just bought a lot of turbines?
