what are my warranty rights on electronics

what are my warranty rights on electronics from Norway

  1. In December 2020, I purchased a TV from Elkjop. This morning it is experiencing major flickering. My understanding is I have a standard two-year warranty period – but unsure if I should contact Elkjop or the manufacturer directly for assistance. Anyone know what’s the correct course of action?

  2. Just find the receipt and bring it in. You don’t want to haggle with customer service on phone. They have a right to repair it. (Maximum three times if I’m not mistaken).

  3. Most has been said already:
    – Consumers have five years consumer law coverage in norway on electronic goods of this type. If the service time extends seven days you are eligible for a loaner product (as long as it’s not an unreasonable cost for the seller).

    I can add the following:
    – You can place your claim either to the seller or an earlier part in the distribution chain (distributor or manufacturer). Say you rather want to take this with Samsung, you can put your claim to them directly.
    – If you can’t find the receipt, it should do with finding the date of purchase. E.g. a screenshot from your bank account should do. The seller by law have to store receipts for five years so with your information they should find the receipt.
    – The seller has the right to no more than two attempts to fix the product for the same issue. If it is verified a third time you are eligible for a refund of your money in exchange for the defect product.

  4. Is this happening on every HDMI-port, or just this specific one?

It might be the Altibox(?) decoder, or the HDMI-cable as well.
