Switching to green fuel needs same urgency as Covid jab, says energy boss

  1. To be honest I think he is right. Considering the energy prices rising and the cost of living crisis if we had more green energy we would be less reliant on gas and electricity would be cheaper. It would also be more environmentally friendly and better for global warming.

I think all new build homes should be sold with solar panels on their roofs and more grants should be given to help the vulnerable get them fitted on their own homes. (Alongside big solar and wind farms being built)

  2. This is why market solutions are always the best. Nothing concentrates the mind like a pinched pocket.

I’m always uncomfortable with people asking or expecting the government to do something about energy prices. I mean we can’t invade Russia and get their gas, we don’t do that anymore. So I’m puzzled as to what’s left to do by government.

  3. It certainly is not an issue that is going away any time soon. Our need to switch will only grow as renewables run out and climate change becomes more extreme. We will regret not taking more action sooner if we continue as we are planning to do so. We put something of a war effort into COVID but this is a much bigger crisis, so it will require a much bigger war effort to tackle properly.
