Yup. Germany is too big to not be a Geopolitical actor, including miliyarily. Not being one strengthens autocraties.
thats a bit to much i would say, yes we need a good cooperation in europe but at the same time I am not sure if germany needs to take any military leadership roles for the eu… Lets make NATO in europe very organized and update equipemebt and strategies and keep all Eu members align.
About time.
Alternatively: EU Command and we all get a fair vote.
A but to late lol
are we the good guys now?
Can you imagine if Germany was at least 30% as hardcore militaristic and aggressive as Russia? Autocracies like to often belittle Germany and other EU countries for being weak and soft, but all of them are terrified of armed and trained EU with Germany leading it
>”Germany is ready to take the burden off America in Europe and thus make a decisive contribution to sharing the load fairly,” Lambrecht said.
Germany should take off America’s burden in Germany, so American troops can be relocated to Poland, Finland, Romania, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Croatia and so forth.
Germany has enjoyed the luxury of being protected by the world’s only superpower throughout the cold war (in 1990, there were 200.000 US troops there, which is more than Russia deployed to Ukraine now), with still close to 40.000 being there. If Germany can fill out a majority of that, than the more capable US troops can be shifted to more at-danger areas of the Alliance.
After all, who in their right mind would trust Germany more than the US on any matter?
that means germany getting nukes. otherwise that leading military role means nothing.
Didn’t the last German defense minister who said something like this get sacked?
“Says Christine Lambrecht”
This bitch is completely and utterly useless, apparently even worse than her predecessors. Wouldn’t take anything she says even remotely seriously.
Except France and Italy seem to have stronger military than Germany.
