You can’t have a party and try to subjugate us for the second year in a row. The BBC ran an article today with three different messages & it seems that SAGE are just making numbers up.
I work for the NHS & although COVID is still an issue, it is nowhere near where it was. Why don’t we get adequate funding instead of having to start a shift and just desperately scramble to ensure people are still alive at the end of it instead of being able to provide the care they deserve – and! that! we! want! to! give! Instead of these stupid attempts to ‘ease pressure’.

If omicron spreads as fast as it allegedly does, it will not make any difference. Perhaps the doubling time slows down from three days to three days and half. There really will only be two options possible in any country – actual lockdown or uncontrollable spread of omicron. Given that the vaccine still protects well against severe illness and that it’s very unclear what other help except vaccines we can expect anytime soon to beat omicron, I presume uncontrollable spread option will be chosen in most countries.
