No “Generation Greta” on home ground in Sweden. General election exit poll for ages 18-21: Green Party at 5 % and centre-right Moderates + nationalist Sweden Democrats at 48 %.

  1. It has changed. The young are voting more to the right while the older from 30 years and up are voting to more to the left. But the extreme right is the second largest in overall. It’s so tight that they need until Thursday to count the votes

  2. I mean, while the environment is important, there are other topics that might interest people, including the youth.

On top of that, just because a party is called “green”, it doesn’t mean they are the most environmentally friendly party. Could anyone with knowledge of the party positions comment ?

  3. The older generation has always been SD, we have known this for about a decade. It’s the same in Norway, the older generation favours the Stoltenbergesc polices. I’m indifferent as I am a dumb disabled fuck. People are legit tired of brazen gangs bombing pizza shops, and shootings in the streets. It’s not surprising.

  4. The “Green” parties are usually the absolute worst to make decisions for the environment. Short sighted, incompetent, naive and always pick dogmatics over problem-solving. Not to mention more interested in the inner cities than actual nature. Fuck ’em.

  5. Okay, apparently the Green Party in Sweden is a small party, so I don’t see why would young people vote for them?

  6. Quite the opposite with America…

It seems that the european youth is going right-wing conservative while the american youth is going full left

  7. Because the green’s environmental policies are pretty damn shit. Every single party except SD got a strong and reasonable environment policies, and SD will just yield on the environmental things because they won’t gain anything by dying on that hill. Especially since their stance is that they don’t have an official stance on it.

  8. Kinda reminds me of that old Pewdiepie clip of him talking about difference in options among the Swedish age groups towards immigrants, with older groups generally being more patient towards them (and therefore probably gravitating towards the left) and the opposite among the youth.

Only mention this because both SD and M are took hard lines towards refugees and immigrants and the likes this time around.
