Shame there’s not more space in the headline, the man being involved in a police chase seems quite relevant – more so than whether he was about to be a dad or not.

Considering it’s a car chase and the police had to carry out a tactical stop, it’s likely he was given multiple “chances”.

Plus he was driving at police when he was shot. You can’t taser someone through a car windscreen.

Play silly games, get silly prizes. Imagine not caring enough about your unborn son to A – carry on commiting crimes and B – get involved in a police chase.
Sounds like he was, in fact, given “a chance” and chose to go the other way.
Just read the Sky News article which quotes “If that was a white boy, he would have got a chance to get out the car.”
Absolute joke. I understand the family are hurting, but surely the can see his actions are the *only* ones to blame here.
Absolute madness that people here seem to think being involved in a police chase warrants being killed.
RIP to this young man.
Automatically assuming cos he black, its gang related,drill/rap music etc, etc, usual stereo types,no fault police….you bunch of closet racists
Cars are deadly weapons when driven carelessly.
If this had happened in warmer dryer weather, you could have guaranteed the would have been a riot.
Kids probably better off by the sound of it. This guy’s probably been dropping loads wherever he can, probably means nothing to him if he’s willing to do this shit. Being a dad doesn’t make him special or immune to consequences of his actions. And having a kid doesn’t instantly make you a saint.
Considering we don’t have the facts you lot sure jump to conclusions in a hurry
I want to know more details before passing judgment.
However armed police don’t get involved unless absolutely necessary. He was involved in a car chase. He made that choice.
I feel sorry for the unborn child. I want to know more facts before I decide my position on this.
I could careless if he was “funny”.
You read the article you tosser….shootout was it…found a gun yet…..you all need to stop presuming you know what happened and that you know me….so I will say it AGAIN….MY OPINION…so kiss my arse
How are all these pieces of trash becoming fathers? We are bringing up so many kids in terrible situations
I understand those who knew him are grieving, but we’re already getting the same lines which are always disingenuously wielded as weapons against the police; “he was such a good boy/young father/aspiring footballer/did well in school” etc etc.
Police Officers are human and make mistakes, it is possible that he was unlawfully killed. However, it’s also likely that as highly trained professionals they were acting within the law and their training.
The discourse has become so Americanized that certain people are already acting like this is some George Floyd moment. Whatever the reality is of racism in the met, armed officers are extremely highly trained and only deployed sparingly. This isn’t America, he wasn’t shot by a panicky undertrained cop. The rights and wrongs will emerge, and maybe it could have been handled differently, but the narrative of ‘typical police, what do you expect?’ is just objectively false when stacked against evidence
Did he light up every room he was in?

The cops could very well have been in danger from this guy and it could well have been justified. Still crazy in this thread the amount of people trusting the met and thinking they are all total pros. Either you don’t live in London or haven’t been following how much the met lie about stuff like this, or their well documented problems with racism and corruption.
before you click the downvote button I am not saying that is the case in this instance. Just a little appeal to understand why some people might not be as happy about this or as trusting of the met as you are.
The fact that people are already suggesting “race” had anything to do with this is the sad thing. Its like a get out of jail card to deflect any real investigation into the circumstances of why it happened.
What we knownis that he engaged in a chase with police, the police involved were armed officers which only happens when there is Intel that he is a danger to the public and may be armed, his music talks about being armed and how he kills people plus his parents in an interview said they known he wasn’t innocent but didn’t deserve to be killed.
We need to see the official reports on this before the usual suspects go on a riot and start claiming its a racial issue.
