He’s really pushing for an election pact, which I doubt will ever happen in Ireland. Fine Gael is the odd one out. They are the only party who will not go in with the Shinners. I think that’s a bold bet to make, they could be out of government for a long time to come.
Also, Sinn Féin are not far-left’. I asked this of Eddie Hobbs once and he didn’t answer. If the prospect of a Sinn Féin government is so scary then how scared are you of a Green led or PBP, or even Labour/SD, led government because in more than a few ways they are far more extreme than Sinn Féin.
