Bro how are they gonna handle this at Star Trek? Captain Picard was the man
Legend of the French new wave.
I’ll have to rewatch some of his classics soon.
As a former cinema student, It was often a chore studying his works, especially the maoist or later movies, but holy shit was that guy fucking inventive. Most of his movies may not be watchable for most people, but his works have inspired countless other filmmakers.
Movies will not be the same without him shitting on basically everything
The death of a legend. Whatever you might think of his career, he made his mark on the medium and influenced every single director who came after him. Time to rewatch ‘Weekend’. RIP.
#WHAT IS UP WITH WRITING THE TITLE ALL IN LOWERCASE?
And so, the last great filmaker of the Golden Age of European Cinema is gone…
Honestly I was under the impression he had already passed, but sad news for sure, even though his art will keep living. Was he the last living member of the Nouvelle Vague?
Sad news. I watched Breathless with English subtitles and was blown away. Belmondo, just wow.
What other of his films should I watch?
Really liked his movies. RIP.
A contentious figure for sure, but he’s my favourite director his work made me truly love and appreciate cinema.
His collaborations with Anna Karina are iconic, and his influence on film are clearly seen today among the modern masters’ works. Merci pour tout and may he rest in peace
