Broadband is easy enough to get a deal with. Don’t go with a top player and use cashback sites & you can score a deal. We’re paying £13 a month for 80MB fibre with NowTV
And for TV just kill off your Sky TV subscription and save a fortune. Ended ours last October saving £60 a month and don’t miss it. I bought a 4K FreeSat box for £100 on eBay and it’s spot on.
Inflation +x% increases in contracts needs to be abolished
Wait, TV, broadband and mobile? Why?
you have a tv ??
netfflix ???
i havent had either of those for over 20years. there are 100000s of filums. tv progs, tv series to watch for free on youtube.
Cancel Sky/Virgin, I find it insane that people pay premium subscription prices to have adverts fed to you every 10 minutes. They’ve taken the piss for way too long.
IPTV and VPN = £15 a month, can see a lot of people going that route.
Its one of those things you can shop around for and if you get complacent your provider will get you in on a cheap 12 months contract then send you a few emails/ letters before hiking it when it ends if you don’t complain or switch. They have always done this.
I personally only pay for Broadband and have a 5G Broadband router £28 per month Vodaphone (tried three which was cheaper but was shit) only gets 5G signal if I have the window open annoyingly but the 4g speeds are around 40mb/s in the day and up to 150 at night
The government want us to live a spartan lifestyle and only stare at the wall once we get home. God forbid we be allowed any luxuries (they do not see broadband as essential in the 21st century for some reason).
We’ll all be at the ‘warm bank’ anyway
suggesting that you should spend a few quid a month on a VPN would be a bad thing so i really hope no one says that because that would be bad. and wrong.
Only use Disney plus in my home, no TV license or any other subscription.
Need to find a better deal on internet though
Ah torrent, my old friend.
Damn, i knew i shouldn’t have opted for Broadband powered by gas and oil
It’s called price gouging, their costs have barely moved
Lets make this very clear; raising by CPI or RPI is a CHOICE and not something companies need to do to make sure they don’t lose money.
Not really.
Cost of Mobile phone contracts have been dropping for years, who even watches TV live any more, and Broadband, once again has been dropping for years given the speed.
While costs have increased if you stay on the same contract. The solution is not doing that, there are plenty of similarly priced deals around, and with a 10% inflation rate, actually significantly cheaper. If only that inflation rate came with a 10% pay rise this country wouldn’t be coming poorer! Sound like people should go do something about it rather than just whining.
I just got virgin to increase my speed and lower my bill at the same time. Which was nice.
They’ll have to go whistle for it, and lose customers in the process.
Can’t pay,so take it away.
Personally I’ll be happy to ditch mobile, I’m tired of being contactable 24/7 and it became an excuse that you always had to answer the phone to your boss etc…
Broadband I’ll miss, to be sure. But we still have books, right?
TV can go take a flying fuck, I won’t miss it at all.
How is this even possible! Even 10 years ago, phone and internet was still twice as expensive in the UK as it was in Denmark.
I moved back to Denmark a few years ago; and I kid you not. Internet and phone is now cheaper than it was before i left..
Less than £10 a mo. For unlimited texts and calls and 20GB of Data and 5GB EU data.
The UK are being screwed. I always thought, internet/phone being cheaper in nations with more people. But I was so wrong. Not only that, contracts lasts 12 months! While in Denmark, its locked for 1-3 months tops.
Seriously, the companies are exploiting for more profits. Otherwise What crazy expenses does the UK have, that other nations dont?!
How do people even survive. Even 4 years ago, we had s very hard time to make ends meet in the UK….
One word -plex
I am paying £99 per month to virgin. Used to be useful for kids watching kids channels and getting sky one programs but now mainly watching streaming channels and freeview available stuff. Going to get virgin to cut down and match new fttp company for speed and price or i am outta there.
You can leave providers if they do an increase mid contract (which shouldn’t even be a thing by the definition of a contract)
I’ll probably switch if they do and get a juicy new customer price elsewhere
I suspect we won’t be seeing dole bludging human waste disappearing offline however, like sportswear and KFC they’ll shake (other people’s) magic money tree and manage to retain their self-declared entitlements.
So, 25 % increase to wages coming soon? Right?
As soon as everyone starts cancelling/defaulting, they’ll realise their error. That’s if they don’t already see that coming.
We’re rapidly becoming a failed state.
How easy is it to get out of a SkY contract these days? I’m a longtime subscriber but it is too much and I want out. Think we are tied in until at least Dec on TV.
BT has slashed the ‘guaranteed’ speed in my area and are still charging the same price.
Contract ends tomorrow ill be going onto a cheap Sim and keeping my cracked Samsung.
Out of curiosity I look at upgrades and almost laughed at the 36 month contract deals and a phone that can flip open.
I’m paying £6 a month in China for internet, TV and mobile. And these companies still make billions in revenue. UK bills are way too high.

My electric is like £40 a quarter too.
