Romanians, can you to explain this meme?

  1. More context: when we type in Romanian online most of us do not use the special characters or diacritics, usually because we’re lazy, we’re not used to the Romanian keyboard and most of us don’t really give a fuck because there are very few genuine confusions you can actually make that would make sense given the context.

So the joke here is that “diacritics matter” because the first line says “come here for a little bit” which is like okay/whatever, but the second one reads “come here Putin” which is like fuck no.

But even in this example, if you were to read the second version, the chances you’d misinterpret it as “come here Putin” are zero, especially since you’d have to write it with a capital P given that it’s a name. Fuck using diacritics, weak meme.

  2. I’m a Romanian and i don’t get the joke. Ok, they sound different because of the ts/t sound, but i think this would be funny for someone younger than 14. And that guy in the picture is the Romanian president. I would rate this meme 3 out of 10.

  3. “Puțin” means “a little ” in romanian

    “Vino” means “come ”

“Vino puțin” (translated for understanding) means “come a little closer”

“Vino Putin ” means “come Putin ”

One ” , ” under some letters change their meaning for example “ş” is pronounced “sh” as in “shop”

It’s a world play romanian style
