  1. Some quotes from behind the paywall:

    >Takeda, one of the world’s ten largest pharmaceutical companies, has seven sites in Europe and the United States that produce drugs derived from blood plasma. The Japanese group chose the Lessen facility over an American one for an investment of around 260 million euros in a new production line to purify blood plasma. In addition, Takeda is also pumping another 34 million euros into the construction of a fully automatic warehouse.

    >“In addition, in recent years we have made strategic investments in sustainability, which used to be a nice to have, but has now become a must-have in the group. We have always taken the lead in that. We recycle 90 percent of our waste water with the Belgian company Ekopak and have already installed 8,000 solar panels. We want to install another 8,000 and plan investments in geothermal energy (ground heat, ed.) and a wind turbine.’
An extra plus is that the biopharma ecosystem and the highly qualified personnel in our country have a good international reputation. Lessons have about 4 to 6 percent employee turnover each year, compared to 20 percent in the United States.

    >Employment has quadrupled in Lessons over the past 15 years, to 1,200 employees. “There will be no new jobs this time,” says Pot. “The new purification line replaces one of the existing, older lines.”
