    While the north-east received less funds than the south-east in 2021/22, it did receive more per head of population: £1.83 per capita, compared to the £1 per head of population received in the south-east.

    North East population 2.7m. South East 9.1m

  3. Isn’t that due to population differences? I doubt the NE got less per person. You can’t expect the SE to get nil, there’s plenty of poverty there too.

  4. The north east has a population of 2.7 million

    The south east has a population of 9.3 million

    So according to the numbers in the article that would mean the north east has been allocated nearly double to funding per capita, vs the south east.

  5. Why am I not surprised. This is the history of the Tory party and the North East. We are still recovering from Thatcherism and will always be left behind by these fucks.
