Recently it has been found that DeRisk, a company that works a lot for Google to find Street View drivers all over the World, published [job offers](https://jobs.workable.com/search?query=street%20view%20driver&location=cyprus&remote=false) for Street View drivers in Cyprus. For example [here is an offer for a driver in Nicosia](https://jobs.workable.com/view/6UuEe5y6xBNQpiBwqQGzBm/street-view-driver-in-nicosia-at-derisk-technologies).

10 offers are currently available for the following districts: Paphos, Nicosia, Lanarca, Kyrenia, Famagusta, Limassol (basically all the districts), which includes many cities. And yes it includes northern cities, not sure how Google will handle this.

Right now it is impossible to 100% confirm this is for Google, however DeRisk posted the exact same offer for drivers in Qatar and Google did update their plans to add Street View there for the next football world cup. Many other identical offers also exist for countries that are regularly updated by Google so the chances are quite high.

The job was supposed to start earlier this month. Therefore if anyone see a [car with a blue camera mounted on a white structure](https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/UhTn3eUwnrcfWcL3aUmdk2fGNJuJC0E9uV2Sxbs5F3vZniU2zzzyd5sQ6T-MBcxmNx-ApxRWL4gW4YES7LxQDakCLn4mffbrPdJ5RnwkQusQFGeGkhet=s0) then it is likely to be for Google Street View. Watch out for them and if anyone can snap a picture and send it, it would help us confirming Google does drive in Cyprus. Thanks.

  1. nice, I can find my occupied house, print out the view and stick it to my wall and pretend I’m chillin’ before the festivities took place

  2. Great! Street view as it is now in Cyprus is outright terrible. Many minor streets don’t have coverage at all and those that do often have pictures tilted in a weird way, moving back and forth is next to impossible, coordinates are way off and picture quality is mediocre at best. Even in Russia it was much better.

  3. Limassol has been on street view for a year already. It’s rather spotty with most minor streets not covered, but it is there.

  4. Man, I’d love to do this on weekends. Too bad they don’t seem to accept part-time and I don’t have a secure space for the car.

  5. It would also be nice if they fixed Google Maps where it is wonky in Cyprus. That caused some frustration last trip going places that were no longer open or in a somewhat different place than where Maps said they would be.

  6. Awesome, couldnt visit Cyprus for over 4 years now and i want to know how the bars i always went to looks, the have only a very small google maps post.
