Need help with this random email. What are they trying to say? Been getting these for a while now and kept ignoring them because it seems like spam but now they really want my attention

  1. Usually, when email doesn’t have a specific name from, for example, secretery, it might be a scam, besides, 4,84 eur debt sounds ridicilous

  2. It looks like you owe some money. If you won’t pay them back, they are transfering your debt to bailiff. Julianus is a popular bailiff contor in Lithuania. Onece i was late to give back my books to library, like really late. And library gave my debt to Julianus. If you know where you owe those 4 euros, I advice you to pay ASAP.

If you have no idea where you owe that money, I believe you can call julianus. On the website julianus.lt you can find their contacts.

  3. Kokie dar teisininkai? Skolą galima perduoti antstoliams, o jau su jais nesusitarus į teismą. Bet nu ne del 5 eurų 😀 geriau tikrai skambinti

  4. Thanks a lot for the help guys! I’ll call the company and hopefully get this sorted out. I’d rather give away 4€ than keeping up with this sketchy bs anyway. Ačiū

  5. Relax dude. If you are positive that you are not in debt, these private “debt collectors” can be ignored. An actual bailiff can act (recover the debt by, for example, removing money off your bank account) only when there is a court ruling. Most of the times bailiffs also apply property attachments (restricting your right to use, for example, the money in your bank account). Although in cases such as this (5 euro debts) they mostly do not bother. Bailiffs, before taking any action, are also required to send you a notice asking you to kindly pay your debt.

Make sure to check your post regularly whether any information from the court arrives. If there is a court case regarding any debts, you will be informed, don’t worry (if not – there are means to defend your rights in such cases as well).

Although if you have debts to the state tax inspectorate or SODRA (state social insurance fund board), they can write-off money of your bank account without a court’s ruling. Usually this happens when you don’t pay taxes, compulsory health insurance, compulsory social insurance etc.

  6. You should contact them asap. They will need to explain where this money coming from. They will need to provide proof, like invoice. At this stage you can dispute this debt. Worst thing you can do now is ignore this email, if you ignore it bailiff will deduct debt from your account but this time debt will be 100 eur instead of 5.

I work with a company like this and company doesn’t make any money if you pay now. They only make money if you ignore this email. And believe me there are loads of ppl who ignore emails like this. Just look at all comments lol.

  7. Holly shit. If debt is not paid, it can cost you ~ 470 euros totally. Check at self.julianus.lt/info/calculator.

  8. Don’t click the link, it can be an impostor. If the company is legit, just call them and check.

  9. Call that company and ask whats up. While the debt collector might be legit, it looks like a scam. The email does not provide any information to whom you own something or why.

First call the company Julianus, they will have to explain to who you own anything. Once you have that information, you can also call your original debt owner to ask again, why you own them anything.

You mentioned that you received an email with your personal information, but recently there were a couple major data leaks from Lithuanian companies so its would not be surprising if someone gathers some information about you, creates an email pointing to legit company to confuse you a bit, but scams you in the end.

While the debt of 4,84€ seems small enough to just pay and ignore even if its a scam, don’t do it before you understand everything. IF it is a scam, paying now could result in more scam offers in the future.

  10. 4eur is not much, to avoid annoying things would almost advice to just pay up.
In other case if they would need to pursue this they may end up claiming additional charges. I think there is limits to what they may claim, but still would end up more than 4 eur.

But if you don’t want to go easy, it is all within your right to ask them to provide documents that would show the existance of debt – some contract, invoise or somethimg – the debt must come from somewhere.
I would advice to reply that you do not refuse to pay if they prove the existance of debt.
If you want, you can also request them to provide info on what grounds they represent their customer – just a proof that they have a contract to administrate creditors debtors.

If you call them they sometimes tend to be loud etc, so would advice to communicate via emails and be cooperative, then it will be easier for you and them.

  11. Could be anything. Like an unreturned library book, bank card fee that was charged to an empty payment account etc. etc. but damn call them, cause if they come to you, they will charge the “collection” fee which is around 100 eur.

  12. Looks and smells phishy 😀 neaišku nei už ką skola mokėti nei kam įsipareigojimai. Kartą gavau laišką tema “BUHALTERIJAI”. O ten išankstinio mokėjimo sąskaitą. Toks ne pasižiūri ir per siunti, susimoki už paslaugas, kurių niekad negalvojai pirkt.

  13. Seems like it is some sketchy debt collection company. The way they work is they threaten with huge debt collection fees if you do not pay on time.

PROTIP: NEVER pay debt collection fees to private companies. Legally you are not obliged to. It’s the companies who hire them for debt collection who have to pay their fees, NOT THE DEBTORS.

    Source: am lawyer.

  14. “Official” email with a mistake (priežiUrą)? Seems like a bullshit. What was the email address that sent it to you?

All the wording is really off. Investigate the email address carefully, however I say 99% it’s a scam

  15. Hey. A lot of mesages. If you still need a help to comunicate PM me and we can chat direcly. Aso I can help translate from lt to en and vice versa.

  16. Basically it says: your debt was transferred to lawyers, and that you should pay it using that link to avoid court stuff
