How does childcare work in Ireland, I thought they were private enterprise so how is the government promising a cut in fees?

They could keep paying children’s allowance to kids who turn 18 and are in secondary school.
The fact that they changed that rule is bizarre.
My parents got it when I was in college for me. Now I don’t even get it for my child in secondary school

The universal subsidy is €0.50 an hour so it looks like they might be adding a €1 to it. You’re allowed roughly 45 hours a week so that could make up the €200.
