They can’t accurately predict this afternoon, never mind December. Utter nonsense.
I feel like ‘Unsettled’ is one of those words that forecasters use like horoscopes – can mean anything.

First, these predictions this far out are bullshit.
Second, prepare. Make sure you have non-perishables at home in case of a power outage resulting in the shops being shut. Make sure to have sources of light and a good store of batteries. Warm clothing, obviously, but also,
sleeping bags – this was of help during a week-long power outage in winter. Camping stoves and fuel may also be required. Keep your car fueled up where possible.
Get to know your neighbours. I can’t stress this enough. There will be people who can help but also people who will need help. Government services may not be working effectively during a prolonged power outage.
