No one smokes anymore. I started vaping at 17 to quit smoking which was a habit for a very long time. Vapes helped me get over it, particularly different flavours due to it not reminding me of smoking as much but still getting the nicotine. The clueless politics is hilarious when it comes to tobacco and vapes.
Raise it to 30 for all it matters. Everyone is vaping. Raise the age of that to 21 too, now that will make a bigger difference

I’m honestly more worried about housing than the negative health effects of smoking, maybe they should sort that out sometime?, its not like other eu states with high rates of smoking have better infrastructure, healthcare and housing

A week before I turned 16 the legal age to buy cigarettes was raised to 18. Needless to say I was fuckin raging. If I was aged 17-20 now I’d feel the same. Edit; It hasn’t been made law, it’s just a recommendation, but I still wouldn’t be happy about the recommendation

I’m a month or that off smokes after many years. I’ve the lend of a refillable vape to get me over the hump. The thing I’ve noticed most which shocked me is how much people stink after smoking – I stank for decades. I think knowing how I’ll smell is enough to keep me off cigarettes now.
I just want my candy and chocolate cigs back.
let adults smoke if they want. As many people have pointed out here they deserve the right to make that decision with out the government trying to control them.
They should also deserve to live with the consequences of their decisions. No more free medical care for smokers with smoking related illnesses. Everyone is aware of the risk. We are basically subsidising tobacca/vaping industry & stupid people.
Why can’t we just ban the damn things. There’s not a single ounce of good that comes from them. Booze isn’t great either but at least it results in some fun. Nobody talks about the wild night they smokes 50 cigarettes

I didn’t ask for a tobacco free Ireland, and the fact there pushing their own agenda on forcing an entire country to stop smoking is sickening. no one will complain though until its there own habits that are being hit, like getting absolutely shit faced on a weekend or you know.. drunk driving.
