I suppose it is very cheap at the moment compared to what PAYE workers contribute.
Then give the self employed the same PRSI related entitlements as PAYE workers.
Why? Self-employed aren’t entitled to any of the protections that PAYE workers are.

I’m a sole trader,after approximately €35000 the effective rate including all deductions is 53%. Going paye after Xmas,simply not worth it anymore
I find it wild how the government assembled and presumably paid this tax group for these recommendations, most of which would be so unpopular that they are essentially all going to be shot down – lest the government find itself out on its arse at election time.
Or bring the PAYE PRSI down to 4% too, even better. Let working peasants get something for their money once in a while 😉
